Winter '18 / '19 - Snow Storm #1: Preliminary STP Verification

Table of preliminary storm-total snowfall by station for THU and FRI from CDUS41 (CLI) ... CXUS51 (CF6) and ... SAUS41 (METAR) bulletins.

Exceptions:
BDR - daily snowfall reports missing.
STP estimated from METAR 6/nnnn group @ SLR 10:1

SLR not reported for some stations with measurable snowfall b/c liquid and / or freezing precipitation also occurred during the verification period.

    BOS 4"

    BDR 4"

    ISP 4"

    but BGR had over 10 hours of snow

    BDR SN changed to UP @ 9:15 pm then FZRA.
    METARS between 8 and 9:15pm suggest 1" at best.

    ISP only T after 8 pm from ice pellets (PE).
    METARs indicate PE ended @ 8:36 pm.

  9. The period of light snow between 8 pm and midnight on the 15th is reflected in the CLI / F6 reports as 0.1". The accumulation was so low b/c the air temperature was several degrees above freezing.
