Senior NEWxSFC forecaster WXCHEMIST ... having made the best 'season-total' snowfall forecast for Winter '23 / '24 ... returns this year to defend his 'Chief Season-total Forecaster' title.
Forecasters also compete against the Period-of-Record Normal (P-O-R-N) and CONSENSUS.

Oops, I mixed up DCA and IAD, it's my error not yours (checked entry) but I definitely meant to predict 13" at DCA and 19" at IAD. Good luck everybody, especially anybody saying more snow. -- Roger S

Kind of you, I wasn't expecting you to do so, but I need all the help I can get, starting with any sort of winter pattern change because if what we see now persists all winter, we'll be lucky to get 50% of PORN and I want a lot of PORN. -- RS
this happens from time to time and we're happy to abide.
way too early to give up on winter. GFS ENS prog AO <0 and PNA > 0 next 15 days. -AO far more important than -NAO for decent contest-area snowfalls. only MWN gets the bulk of its annual snowfall in DEC.
