Winter '11 / '12 - Meteorological Winter - Month Three

CAR alone enjoyed a 'normal' snowfall this winter.  No other station came even close to normal.

March is the last month for the 'season-total' snowfall forecast contest.  Latest round of long range progs hold little hope for a late rally.

Climo columns are the summed monthly totals for DEC...JAN...and FEB.

Teleconnections for FEB (top) and meteorological winter (bottom).

Brutal ... by the way, I thought SBY had a couple of inches in that non-event storm #2 that was cancelled. Maybe not. -- Roger Smith

I would think that the seasonal totals are just a little above these listed values, about half of the "storm #2" that fell on March 1 and a few additional inches at Caribou and perhaps BTV ... doubt that the seasonal total even reached 400 inches. Trainwreck. Maybe we'll still have a storm #3 or we could do a rainstorm. :) -- Roger Smith

Final results for the 'season-total' contest should be posted this evening.

There were two 'regular season' storms this winter. Not enough to declare a winner but those results will be posted in the not oo distant future.

Since there was a contest, the results, (including the
winner(s)), should be posted.
